Sri Lanka Cricket announced the 15 member squad for the 2011 World Cup

Former Sri Lanka captain and ruling party parliamentarian Sanath Jayasuriya who was in the 1996 World Cup winning team and veteran paceman Chaminda Vaas are notable removals from the squad from the 30-member pool.

Another notable change is the selection of Rangana Herath over Suraj Randiv.

Sri Lanka along with India and Bangladesh will host the 2011 World Cup from February 19 to April 2.

Following are the members of the World Cup team.

Kumar Sangakkara (captain), Mahela Jayawardhana (vice captain), T.M. Dilshan, Upul Tharanga, Thilan Samaraweera, Chamara Silva, Chamar Kpugedara, Angelo Mathews, Thisara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Dilhara Fernando, Muttiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis, Rangana Herath.
