WWE: Rumors About Cena, Punk, and Del Rio After Hell in a Cell.

WWE: Rumors About Cena, Punk, and Del Rio After Hell in a Cell.
There really is little reason to recap CM Punk's astonishing rise from an also-ran stable leader one of the WWE's top faces. During the entire "Summer of Punk" saga, the man spoke for the masses of older fans and the Internet Wrestling Community.

Since his worked shoot in late June, he defeated John Cena twice, and took Triple H to the limit a few weeks ago at "Night of Champions", falling only after three Pedigrees, a Jacknife Powerbomb, and an attack by The Miz and R-Truth.

Del Rio, in less then a year, has won the Royal Rumble, Money In The Bank, and a World Title. The 'E has been very high on him since his debut on SmackDown and he's been pushed hard since that debut. A highly talented man in nearly every respect, the sky is the limit for the Aristocrat.

Punk already has a storied career in the WWE, with four World Title reigns to his credit, and Del Rio has made a lot of waves in such a short time. Going forward, the word around the campfire, according to PWInsider, via WrestleNewz.com:

"Regarding CM Punk’s spotlight in the WWE main events over the past few months, word is that the push will continue at least through the end of the year. Following the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, Punk is scheduled to go into a singles feud with Alberto Del Rio."

In a separate bit, it was noted, via Wrestling Observer, that the the idea for the main event at Vengeance later this month was a Fatal Four way between Del Rio, Punk, Cena, and Kevin Nash, but these plans have apparently been scrapped, presumably by somebody with a sane mind who knows Nash couldn't move out of the way of a steamroller.

The general direction is that Cena will be involved with Rock during Survivor Series, but whether he'll be teaming up with or wrestling against is pretty much debate at this point. Punk and Del Rio could pay huge dividends for Del Rio, whom is sorely in need of a feud with a Main Event caliber talent like Punk.

A likely scenario could be a screw job finish at Hell In A Cell, to give an excuse for a rehash of the main event at Vengeance later this month, then to move Cena to a short angle involving The Rock while Punk and Del Rio feud for the title, leading to a team involving Punk, Cena, and The Rock versus a team with Del Rio and Awesome Truth at Survivor Series. From there, they could continue a Punk and Del Rio feud while Cena gets Awesome Truth, or Dolph Ziggler if they decide to push him.

Given the number of recent title reigns by the "Fruity Pebble", this would keep Cena out of the title scene for a spell, while keeping him on the periphery of the championship as the "emergency" guy if they need interject a top level talent in the title scene at any time. Triple H played this role recently, and was "activated" to feud with Punk after rumors Nash failed a physical.

This would also give time for Punk and Del Rio to shine all the brighter
